Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you want to write?

I see possibilities, a way forward, to heal hearts. During my thirty-three years of teaching, too many teens at my schools ended their own lives. Our society must reach the underlying issues of children and better equip them for challenges. I want my writing to make a difference in young lives

I want children to understand every single person is unique and has gifts meant to give our world care, protection, inspiration and hope. Never discount yourself. You are the STAR of your life.

What is your goal in writing?

Fun adventures! I want to experience exciting adventures, write about them, and heal hearts.

What do you miss about teaching?

I miss the students, homecoming activities, teaching books with historical significance and I miss teaching the research paper. I’m serious! Teaching the research paper was very fulfilling.

Did you have a favorite grade level when you taught English?

Ninth grade was fun because they were both excited and nervous about high school. I got to see high school through their eyes. Eleventh graders see the light at the end of the tunnel. Their many years of school are ending, and they are discovering their future.

What kinds of books do you enjoy reading?

I enjoy historical fiction, biographies, fiction and inspirational books.
